Peter Karl

I met Peter while hanging out during Jon's recording of his second album at Peter's studio. Peter has had a successful recording studio for the last ten years and has recorded over 200 CDs. The studio consists of 4 isolation rooms with one large room where the drum kit is setup. They also have a dedicated and well equipped mixing room. Located in Park Slope , Brooklyn it is easily accessible via train or car. Peter and Jon have known each other since high school and have stayed friends ever since.

After hanging out at the Peter Karl studios I decided to record my acoustic tracks there and perhaps do some of the mixing and mastering as well.

Ed and Jon first met at a day gig. Ed's day gig is at the Guggenheim and they have gigged their over the years quite a few times. I first met Ed at Coby's in midtown where the Jon Raney trio was performing a showcase of tunes which would eventually comprise most of the Waltz For Talia album.

Ed can be heard on the following recordings:

JON RANEY TRIO – Waltz for Talia
 BURT ECKOFF – Ecology
 JEFF SILVERBUSH QUINTET – Pojo
JEFF SILVERBUSH QUINTET – Grandma Mickey
 CHARLIE KRACHY - Jazzman’s Serenade

Eliot Zigmund

Terrific Jazz drummer with an amazing resume. Eliot gigged with Jazz piano legend Bill Evans for 4 years and has played with other Jazz greats. Ed and Eliot held down the groove on the more hardcore Jazz tunes on Jon's upcoming second album.
