Earthly Trinity : Maldezar

This is a 55 second  scratch track I made while playing with my new virtual drum kit software namely BFD.  I used a Korg Pandora PX4D to record a bass line over a latin drum sequence provided by BFD.  The PX4D is an electric guitar/bass modeller/effects box. I  went straight from the PX4D into my Eurorack mixer and into my Edirol Firewire FA-101. The recording was made on Reaper and a final quick master was done in Adobe Audition 2.0 . The bass riff has just basic compression and reverb and is panned to the left. Again, these scratch traks are not rehearsed material.

A final word on BFD. What is really cool about BFD besides that they have increidibly multi-sample drum kit parts is that every one of these kit parts and more i.e. including different mic placements are made available to your recording software as tracks. This allows one to fully mix BFD as if one was practically mixing a live drum kit but of course not with the full flexibility of being there.. BFD allows provides for "humanizing" capabilities both with regards to volume (velocity) and timings.

Disclaimer: Scratch tracks are un-rehearsed , un-polished , often totally on the spot recordings and should not be taken too seriously  :)
